Choosing cities and nights for an Umrah trip
Choosing cities and nights for an Umrah trip
Most Umrah packages split the stay between two cities. The number of nights in each one is a choice, and it is worth thinking about before you compare prices.
Start with who is travelling. A family with older parents may want fewer moves between cities, because every transfer is a tiring day. A group of younger adults may be happy with a more packed schedule.
Next, ask how the nights are divided. A quote that says ten nights in total tells you very little. Ask for the number in each city and the date of the transfer between them, and check that the dates add up.
Ask how the transfer is made. Some groups travel by road and some by train. Ask how long it takes, whether baggage is handled for you and what time the group is expected to leave the first hotel.
Ask about airport arrival as well. Flights sometimes land at a different city from the one where you stay first, and that adds a road journey after a long flight.
Write down the answers and compare them with at least two other quotes. A cheaper package with an awkward schedule is often not cheaper in practice.
If you want to see how one Lahore tour company describes its Umrah options, read pakistantraveldiaries, which also arranges Umrah packages, and then ask these same questions of every agent you speak to.
